Well you have a wealth of answers but I think no one has mentioned the Kray twins who were the most famous London gangsters who ruled the East of London and who had many celebrities as friends including many attached to the Royal family they went to many functions and were extremely ruthless .I also believe they were the last prisoners to be held there , Sorry as this has nothing to do with the medieval times but at least you now know who were the last prisoners were, they were jailed there in the late sixties.
