Were there any Chiefs of the White Mountain Apaches?
The only recognized “Chief” of the White Mountain Apache Tribe is ALCHESAY. Some say he was only a hereditary chief, if this is true, then there were other “Chiefs”, because in each community/district/clan was a leader, but, it is said that these other chiefs would approach Alchesay for resolution of issues brought before them.
