Were the theories of Karl Marx realy Scientific?
They were scientific in the sense that they were reasoned and not the outcome of faith or prejudice. Fallenaw’s put-down is irrelevant – all philosophical, social, political and economic theory evolves from what has gone before. Marx was highly educated, his own doctoral dissertation was on the difference between the Philosophies of Nature in Democritus and Epicurus and his own writings are not just syntheses of others works, but original in their own right. When he arrived in London, he began the researches in the reading room of the British Museum which led to the publication of major works of political and economic analysis, most notably ‘Das Kapital’. Much of his work has been falsified and perverted by politicians and commentators alike for their own purposes but his writings are still highly respected . Scientific in method ? Certainly.
