They are different fruits from different areas of the world. A lime will never turn bright yellow and a lemon won’t go orange. Actually and orange is a hybrid between the pomelo and tangerine, probably in China or India. NAvel oranges came about in the 1800s. Lemons came from Arabia. Not sure where limes came from.
