Were the Minoans the first Greek Civilization?
The Minoans were the earliest Greeks, settling on the the isle of Crete. Their capital was Cnossus and this is the civilization that gave us the legend of Atlantis and the Minotaur. They were traders and had some advanced stuff (like indoor plumbing) and their civilization is known to have existed approx. 1000BC, before the rise of the Mycenaeans – who were the Greeks of the Peloponnese.
