No, but the descendants of the Minoans may be. It’s been hypothesized that Crete was actually Atlantis. There is some evidence that in ancient times Crete was struck by a tidal wave caused by the eruption of a volcano at Thera, modern Santorini. In fact the eruption destroyed Thera and if you look at an image of Santorini today via satellite imagery you see what looks like a largely underwater island off the western coast which is actually sitting in the cladera of the volcano (http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/sseop/images/ESC… http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpegMod… Thera was much large before the eruption than modern Santorini as is evidenced.
