It depends what you mean by “mentally healthy”. Because, it’s a subjective term. I think we can all agree in general what “mentally unhealthy” is – when a psychological disorder is present. To me, mental health involves having mental clarity and focus – being able to concentrate for a length of time on one task or train of thought without being distracted by anxiety or stress, or some other problem in your life unrelated to the task at hand. Also, to have peace of mind – being able to accept things in your life for how they are, and feeling a certain amount of control over your situation. Spirituality and morals have to come into play – knowing what you believe and having general guidelines in place for how you plan to live your life. Regarding our levels of concentration, they have clearly gone down because of technology.
