Born in a Hindu dominant Society where Caste system and ritual were the key to everything, the first thing Guru Nanak Dev ji did was dismiss the tilak and Jenu as a useless ritual and pointless thing to have, and instead made friends with Muslim Mardana ( even today in India many Hindus do not even like touch Muslims).
