Yes there are actual people that were called Jack and Jill from a real story that actually happened. The story was in fact, about a noble that was in love with a famous mathmetician’s daughter. The mathmetician said that the noble (named Jack) could have the lady’s hand in marriage if he fetched him a pail of water from a magic well in the enemy kingdom on top of a mountain (I think it was French – they were English). Jack sets off on the quest with Jill at the mathmetician’s request and goes into France. The mathmetician had told him a way to get to the well with some weird calculation and so Jack went up the mountain. However, he found himself with a puzzle to get the pail from the well that the mathmetician had “forgot” to tell Jack about. Thinking that this was his challenge and knowing that the mathmetician had said that the way to get on the mountain was not completely 100% assurable that he wouldn’t be seen, he desperately tried to undo the puzzle. However, he didn’t have enough
