Were hijabs worn before the birth of Islam ?
yes they were worn actually veiling was practiced long before islam but it wasnt obligatory in the islamic religion till islam began to grow and started adopting cultures while it spread veiling was seen obligatory when the the muslims were going through the byzantine empire where they saw if women werent veiled the excluded a lustful energy that attracts men to seduce them so those muslims adopted the tradition because islam was very tolerant and accepting of other traditions and cultures back then which led to the strongest time in muslim histroy as soon as the muslims stopped adopting and learning the empire fell into the stage which the muslim world faces today
