It would be a good thing to know there are a number of different species called badgers. Should, for example, you happen to be in Europe, then the badger you’d be asking about isn’t the same as the North American critter of the same name. For one thing, it’s somewhat bigger. Assuming you’re referring to the badger found in Europe, then they typically enjoy living in woodland in burrows called sets. By the way, “where they live” is what you want to know, not “were”.
