Were did Charles Darwin live?
Darwin lived in several different parts of the United Kingdom as well as spending a great part of his life overseas on field trips. Having been born in Shrewsbury, near the Welsh border, he moved to Edinburgh in Scotland with his grandfather in 1825. After neglecting his medical studies he incurred the anger of his father who sent him to Cambridge to pursue a degree at Christ’s College, and he lived in Cambridge for some years – some of his descendents still live in the city to this day. Following a period of illness caused by overwork, he lived for a while with relatives at Maer Hall in Staffordhire. He later moved to Kent, where he died at Down House near Bromley in 1882.
