OK Short Answer. They were both industrial Cities. More people died in hamburg in 1943 than died in Dresden in 45. No-one complains about Hamburg because it did not get used by Left Wing Propagandists to build a web of Myths around the bombing. People claim that Dresden was. When the French stormed Spanish towns during the peninsular war the citizens inside were killed and the towns raped and pillaged.
