Were any Greek myths/gods grounded in reality? Is there any proof?
Like other posters have said, ALL myth is based in reality at some point. The Greeks, like every other culture, attributed a diety to every function of life, but as for the major pantheon, it is likely that they were men and women remembered for great deeds or particular traits and deified over time. The Greeks also had a huge oral history of doing this with minor gods and mortals after the pantheon of gods was said to exist, (such as the stories of Herakles) so why not the original pantheon too? The Titans were probably allussions to gods worshipped in the feotal part of their culture.
