weeks pregnant – can I have 1 glass of champagne?
Well, you could pretend to drink a sip – no one will notice. I don’t know if you have any control over this, but you could fill your glass with sparkling white grape juice and drink it. I definitely think that you should not drink any alcohol. Early pregnancy is when it is especially important because that is when all the development is happening. If you have to you could just tell people that you don’t want to drink, or you could tell a few key people that will keep their mouths shut and help you drink an alternative. Please remember, drinking one sip may harm your baby – so please don’t risk it. I would hate to think that something happened to your baby all because you didn’t want to take away your sisters thunder. When I got married my aunt was pregnant and she didn’t tell anyone either for the same reason, but I found out later and was upset that she hadn’t told me. I don’t feel like it would have taken anything away from my day, and your sister may be the same way. I hope this hel
I would just pretend to sip, or have them fill your glass w/ the sparkly apple juice so you don’t have to pretend. If people notice they can assume what they want, but they’re going to have balls of steel to try and ask you about it at the wedding. Like you said, you want to keep the drama to a minimum for your sister’s sake so hopefully the guests will keep that in mind too. Besides, you can just say you don’t want to drink. It’s your sister’s big day and you want to stay sober so you don’t embarass her. People should respect that, it’s a wedding and no one is going to force you to drink. Just don’t drink the glass of champagne.
