While filing on a Holiday or weekend: If your payment method is EFTPS, you can file 365 days a year. If your IRS payment method is DIRECT DEBIT, the IRS will not accept your filing (on a weekend or holiday) and you must finish and complete your filing on the next business day. This means that you CAN complete your filing all the way up to the last step of actually submitting it to the IRS. When you return on the next business day, all you need to do is log-in, select ‘My Account’, then hit continue filing for the filing you wish to complete.
