There are 3 factors to consider when choosing the best size for your needs: 1) How many gallons of water do you consume per day? As a rule of thumb, one person consumes 1 – 2 gallons per day. That adds up to 2 – 4 gallons per day for a couple, and so on. Once you have that figure, you’ll want to purchase a system that will NOT require you to refill it more than twice a day to produce the amount of water you need. For instance, if you determine you consume about 6 gallons per day, the Royal Berkey will be the smallest system you’ll want to purchase as it holds 3.25 gallons.
