We want to start an EWoW course in our school. Do we need approval for it from the British Council?
• approval from the School Curriculum Board for this optional subject, • a school-based curriculum class per week for it (English or Technologies) in the school timetable, • a group of students really interested and willing to do the course, • one or more colleagues of English and of vocational subjects interested and willing to do the project, • your personal option for your own professional development. Alternatively, you can develop the project as an extra-curricular activity with the approval of the school management. The last three points apply in this case as well. Question 2: Is the project applicable only to technological and vocational high schools or can it be implemented in academic or other types of high schools as well ? Answer: Although the project was originally conceived for technological and vocational schools, it can definitely be adapted and implemented in other types of high schools. Its aim is to help students develop competences that they will be able to use later
