If you want to store your soap before you use it, store it in a dark dry area like a linen closet or drawer. Some customers report being satisfied with how soaps stored in plastic zip lock bags fare over time. We have had some customers store their soap in the freezer or refrigerator, but be sure to isolate it so the soap scent won’t permeate your foods. The soap will have to reach room temperature again before it regains its scent, so don’t panic if you take it out of the fridge or freezer and you can’t smell it. And we definitely advise labeling your soap as “soap” so that some poor, unsuspecting family member doesn’t grate a bar of soap thinking that it’s parmesan cheese, and sprinkle it over a pan of lasagna. No, I’m not kidding about this. See the Soap Shed’s very own ‘Believe It Or Not’ stories on our Testimonials page.
