Yes, but there are things you should consider first. Dell is a state contract PC vendor and if you find a better price outside of the regular education channel, you may purchase. It must be a tax-free purchase. Dell has become increasingly aggressive in their home/small business pricing. This line of products is referred to as their “consumer” line (Dimensions, Inspirons) as opposed to their “professional” line (Optiplex/Precision, Latitude). Sometimes it’s difficult after seeing those consumer line Dell TV commercials to pay $1200 for the same computer. Before making the purchase, make sure you are aware of the disadvantages that go along with buying at that price. If it breaks you have to send it off to Dell for repair…Dell doesn’t include on-site warranty service at that price. Dell doesn’t cover accidental damage for that price, so if you drop it, you might as well buy a new one.
