We need to install the SeeMoreData application server on a Unix box. Would it be difficult to access Excel and ODBC sources from here?
No. SeeMoreData ROS (Remote ODBC Service) extension which acts as a local SeeMoreData agent on the host that contains the data, supports this requirement. Moreover, the data is sent back to the SeeMoreData via a compressed, encrypted delivery method, using sockets instead of http, thus making the data far more secure, and reducing network bandwidth and not requiring the actual data (spreadsheet, Access DB, etc) to be exposed on a shared network drive.
