One of Twister’s primary uses is to make deployment of various text analytics applications into a customer’s environment much faster & less risky. Twister’s extensible API allows third-party tools to be easily integrated into the framework and into a customer’s environment without custom programming. Twister integrates text analytics tools including Inxight, Attensity, NetOwl, AeroText, Basis, and lingpipe. Twister also allows tools to be run in parallel for increased performance, which is important for CPU intensive tools such as entity extraction applications. In addition to text analytics applications, Twister includes interfaces to gazetteers (geotaggers) and specialized applications, such as address standardization and name resolution software.
