Skateboarding contests can be fun and instrumental in bringing a community of skaters together. Often, skaters will travel hundreds of miles to attend and compete in a contest if the event shows promise of a good time or god exposure for talented skaters hoping to find a sponsor. In most contests, skaters ride through the park or course individually while a panel of judges (5 – 7 experienced skaters) rates each competitor’s routine (45 seconds to one minute).
