We have a hospice inpatient unit. What is considered a visit in the IP unit since they are getting 24-hour care?
To be counted as a visit in an inpatient unit, the visit must still be reasonable and necessary for the palliation and management of the terminal illness and related condition as described in the plan care. The CR states “entry in a medical/clinical record” … and “rounds in facilities” do not constitute a visit and as such are not counted.
