We have a foreign student here for the summer, how can I provide him with a computer without giving him access to export controlled data?
Having a foreign student on site and giving them access to the public and internal web sites does not give them access to export-controlled information. That kind of information is behind firewalls. Computer security measures complement the information safeguard method of “point protection” at KSC. Point protection requires that the owner of the information be responsible for limiting access to those with a need to know. In addition to permission controls (user ID and password), a review of the posted information by export control personnel is required.
