Some of the Tru64 UNIX OS patch kits have been known to cause failures for the MulticastSocket class. The failure is mostly a connection timeout but could also cause a hang. Listed below are the Tru64 UNIX patch kits that cause the problem. If you have installed one of these patch kits, a portion of the offending patch kit can be removed without having to remove the entire patch kit. Also, patch kits that contain a fix to this problem are available.
