We are a school in a remote area and do not have a close neighbouring school with whom to establish a partnership. How can we be part of the LSWT Program?
The LSWT program is essentially an education-based program. Partnerships across education sectors and between schools are the primary target partnerships. However, where circumstances such as isolation from other schools prevent this, a partnership with other eligible organisations may be viable. You should seek advice from the State Liaison Officer in the first instance to clarify your eligibility. Notwithstanding the comment above, the LSWT Guidelines allow for a third party partner (such as a local council) where demonstrated benefit to the broader community is offered. In this type of partnership, the emphasis upon improved educational outcomes should remain the primary aim.
