We are a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), can we install Nessus 4 on a server appliance that we provide to our customers?
A. If you are a MSSP, you cannot install Nessus 4 on an appliance you provide to your customers unless you purchase and execute an MSSP amendment that permits redistribution for the Nessus 4 Engine and Plugins from Tenable. To determine if you qualify to enter into a Nessus MSSP license with Tenable, you must retain ownership of the hardware that is placed on customer premises. If your business model is built around a “rent to own” model, you will not qualify for a MSSP License for Nessus from Tenable. Contact Tenable to discuss possible licensing arrangements at sales@tenablesecurity.com.
