Yes. The library operated independently until 2004, when it joined the Ester Community Association, which is a state-recognized nonprofit organization. The library was so successful that it began to outgrow its quarters, and the ECA and the JTEL committee decided to buy land for a building. The JTEL separated from the ECA in 2009 to form a federally recognized charitable nonprofit (a 501(c)(3) organization), and held its first annual membership meeting in October 2009. The Ester Library Lecture Series The Ester library lectures are a series of free public lectures held on the third Wednesday of the month, 7 pm at Hartung Hall.
