Was your family life more like the Munsters, the Flinstones or Leave It to Beaver?
I was lucky that my mother was able to stay home and take care of us kids. My father was an attorney. He worked long hours and spent every week-end with us as a family. He would go over homework, play sports, still found time to educated us. I was the one that absorbed the languages from him, as my father is fluent in five languages. I often stopped by his office to assist him with his work load. My mom never interfered with his work! The kiss at the door was the original daily routine for mom and dad. We all ate at the dining room table and shared our daily blessings and stories. Bed time, (like The Walton’s) consisted of everyone saying good night to each other from the five bedrooms, and mom yelling, “Now.. sleep tight, and don’t let the bed bugs bite.” If children had that opportunity today to have a stay at home parent, there would be less teenage arrests.
