So, for example, Microsoft did not develop Windows XP in Israel. The vast majority of MS software development, especially for operating systems, is done at their Redmond, WA campus. It is true that they and Intel both built large R&D centers in Israel. It may also be true that certain parts of the OS were developed there. However, to say “XP was developed in Israel” is not correct. For the record, MS Israel’s website makes the following brief statement “Started with OS2 for NT and Win32s” listed in the “1991 – 1995” phase (far preceding XP’s release in 2001 and its initial development in 1999).
