Dr. Kelly’s acknowledged status as a world authority on WMD, particularly in Iraq, makes the slur against him by a leading civil servant particularly unpleasant. The Hutton enquiry should at last give some answers as to whether the government or the BBC has been misleading the public. Dr. Kelly paid for giving evidence to another enquiry with his life: Why?
