I thought I remembered that Walt Disney had been cremated, so I checked Wikipedia and found that was indeed the case. Interestingly, Wikipedia notes that the first attempt at cryogenically preserving a corpse took place not too long after Disney’s funeral, and the timing of the two events might or might not be connected in the public imagination of early 1967. I know it was in the early spring of 1967 that I first heard the rumor that the Disney Corporation had their figurehead on ice.
