Was Walt Disney frozen?
I thought I remembered that Walt Disney had been cremated, so I checked Wikipedia and found that was indeed the case. Interestingly, Wikipedia notes that the first attempt at cryogenically preserving a corpse took place not too long after Disney’s funeral, and the timing of the two events might or might not be connected in the public imagination of early 1967. I know it was in the early spring of 1967 that I first heard the rumor that the Disney Corporation had their figurehead on ice. That particular urban myth is very persistant, probably because it has been repeated so often that two or three generations take it as gospel. I’m including a link to Disney’s Wikipedia biography.
