Safe walk zones were considered as one of the non-weighted factors of the new student assignment plan. The City of Seattle School Traffic Safety Advisory Committee, which includes the Seattle Public Schools’ Risk Manager, establishes approved walk zones and recommended walking routes. This information is used in determining transportation eligibility in Seattle Public Schools.
