Massive slaughter except for the naval force that stood by without providing support to the landing. There were some survivors amongst the ground forces. Winston Churchill (the mastermind behind this entire strategy) learned NOTHING from this absolute waste of lives because years later during WWII, Churchill was still proposing plans very similar to the Gallipoli disaster that he had organized in WWI and he was very insistent about it. There is GOOD NEWS HOWEVER, Churchill wasn’t in charge of the overall military effort, the Americans were and they were smart enough to not listen to him but they were still often times delayed by Churchill’s insistence on many occasions (if they had ignored Churchill from the beginning, much less troops would have died and the war would have ended much sooner). Personally, I would do a letter home from Churchill talking about how the disaster wasn’t his fault (exactly what he did, he tried to cast blame on others when in reality his plan was faulty to b
