Was there ever a gun maker named Schilling?

lling made Kentucky rifles in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, circa 1855. V.C. Schilling & V. Chr. Schilling guns of various types were made in Suhl, Prussia from approx. 1850-1920. Guns included; muzzle loading rifles and pistols, Reichrevolvers, Commission 88 rifles(military & sporting), Mauser 98 rifles(military & sporting), along with shotguns, capeguns, combination guns and drillings. I believe the company was finally taken over by Merkel. Currently Jorg Schilling is manufacturing Schilling rifles in Mehlis, Germany in a plant that was owned by his Grandfather Alfred Schilling and currently bears his name. The current production consists of single shot and bolt action (Mauser 98 action) rifles.
