Was there any turmoil in Lamented Souls, when Simen chose to focus on Dimmu?
I mean, after all, Dimmu isn’t everyone’s cup of tea in the band, I suppose. Well, as you say Dimmu was never really our “cup of tea”, but Simen is our friend and we’ve always respected his choices. It wasn’t like he one day said “now I’m in Dimmu Borgir. I QUIT” either you know. We still did the band when he joined them, yet after a while he became so busy it was a bit difficult finding the time. But our inactivity has also been down to our general laziness. We COULD have kept it going, but I guess the spark really wasn’t there. And we have been planning on getting our act together for a while, Simen quitting Dimmu only sort of reinforced that plan with some new energy. So it would have happened sooner or later anyway, but it just became a little easier and less stressful when he suddenly became generally more available.
