{Incidentally at end of movie when the badly injured Campbell has to shoot a German-this did not happen!} Reply With Quote 21st February 2009 20:52 #2 Marks View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Senior Member Join Date Nov 2007 Posts 394 Hi, I was recently thinking how many Battle of Britain pilots flew on D-Day. I did come across Belgian flyer Francois August VENESOEN he flew as WOP/AG with 235 Sqn Blenheims gaining the Battle of Britain clasp. Later he trained as a pilot flying with 350 Belgian Squadron during the Dieppe raid 19/8/42 later he joined 610 Sqn was awarded the D.F.C becoming an ace. 6/6/44 he flew an early patrol in a 350 Sqn Spitfire EN950. He body was never found and he is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial !
