Was there a part of the human body that enabled us to digest plants years ago?

Hi friend, first I would like to tell u how our body works…To carry out the daily tasks our body works independently most of the times by using its own machineries such as enzyme system etc but in some instances it depends on some other organisms to do its function effieciently i.e symbiotic relationship with the microbes present in our guts to do the enhanced work for us like it does for cattles to degrade cellulose which our body can’t do…..Our body is not a machine to digest everything that u put into bcos our system hasnt evolved to possess such capacity may be due to multi-diet….There was no other extra parts to digest n all….
