Was there a larger Vehicle mounted Bazooka (or hollow charge/squash head type) in WW2.?
Your talking about the Rocket Launcher T34 Calliope. These were not “Bazooka’s” (a short-range infantry anti-armor weapon) but artillery rockets designed for area bombardment. The T34 installation was the most common and consisted of sixty tubes of 4.5 inch spin stabilized rockets mounted on a pedestal above the turret on a M4 Medium tank. A very small number were built and saw service in northern Europe from August 1944. Their use was not continued post-war. There was another launcher, the T40 “Whiz-Bang” which held twenty rockets of 7.2 inch caliber that saw very limited service at the end of the war. These too were not considered successful installations. Some British Sherman V and VC mediums of the Coldstream Guards were fitted with one launcher rail on each side of the turret for a 60-pound aircraft rocket in late 1944.
