Was theodore roosevelt a conservationist?
Theodore Roosevelt is known for setting aside more land for conservation than any other person in world history. He set aside over 230,000,000 acres of forest preserves, five national parks, 51 federal bird refuges, and fourteen national monuments. He was a hunter and wanted to protect future generations’ ability to hunt and have the outdoor experiences he valued so much, but he also protected places where non-game species lived.
