Was the Tenakh translated into many languages?
The Tanach has been translated into numerous languages. Currently, the best English translations are the Stone Edition from Art Scroll Press and ‘The Living Torah’, translated by Rabbl A. Kaplan. However,no translation is authoritative. Only the original Hebrew/ Aramaic is valid and all questions must be taken to the original source. No translation may be used. In ancient times, about 300 BCE, there was a translation from Hebrew into Greek that was considered authoritative. It was called the Septuagint [’70’, after the number of Rabbis involved in the translation]. It only covered the 1st 5 Books of Moses, called the Chumash. However, that translation is no longer in existence. What is currently called the Septuagint is really pagan and Christian translated and is useless.
