No. It was made up to make a good story around a true event. Jack would never have gotten from the steerage deck to the upper decks because the people below were locked in. That’s one reason so many died when the ship went down ( besides not enough life boats) they were locked in and no one unlocked the door. He was an Irish immigrant and considered the lowest of the low and she was the cream of society and would have never spoken to him let alone love him. This was the way society was in the 1900’s.
