Was the project a complete redesign for Dury’s 50th Anniversary?
Brad: Dury’s is famous in South Texas for their remarkable inventory of new and used guns.The current website is actually the second project with Dury’s. From the beginning, they were sold on the content management capability of ExpressionEngine. In the first version they wanted to simply add and remove guns, without selling them online. We designed the system to maximize SEO through individual listing pages and great category management. Within six months of launch we proved that we could get their content in fast and the search engine results they were looking for. Dury’s was mesmerized by the amount of hits they were getting from nearly every city in the US. Once Dury’s could visualize the potential business from the new web traffic they were ready to sell guns. In the current version we visualized the guns on every page and made the viewing and exploring of the inventory simple and easy. This left us with our biggest problem of all, selling guns in the US.
