Even as emergency vehicles continue to set off for a 10-mile procession through the Tacoma-area, headed to the Tacoma Dome to honor four Lakewood, Washington police officers killed last Sunday in the line of duty, officers and relatives are filing into the dome for a memorial service. The memorial, originally planned for 1 p.m., has been delayed until 1:45 p.m. to accommodate families of the officers and some of the 20,000 uniformed officers enroute to attend. Live coverage showed an awesome display of hundreds of Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers marching in regiments– and dressed in bright red uniforms — into the coliseum.
