Was the incentive to receive a lot of playing time helpful during the recruiting process?
Cross: That’s what most young men want – an opportunity to play. That’s one of the things I told our recruits. Several minutes for us have left the building so to speak. Even our veterans will have to fight for playing time because we’ve brought in some very talented young men. I’m looking forward to having competitive practices on a daily basis. Everyone who plays is going to have to earn it in practice. Q: You were limited to an eight or nine-player rotation for the majority of last season. How will having a full roster at your disposal help in the upcoming campaign? Cross: We had several holes on our roster we needed to fill last season, and that really limited the things we wanted to do both in practice and games. With that being said, you just have to go out and do the best you can with what you have. Now I feel we will have the numbers to really compete every day in practice and make each other better.
