Was the Holy Spirit given only to the apostles and 120 disciples in the upper room?
Since the Word of God hangs on the commandment of love and love is imparted to each Christian by the Holy Spirit, then no one can say the Holy Spirit was given only to those in the upper room. Else, there would be no power to fulfill Christ’s command to take the gospel into the four corners of the earth. Romans 5:5 (KJV) – And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. The Upper Room Acts 4:31-35 (NIV) – After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. (32) All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.
