Was the Great Fire of Rome connected to the fall of the Roman Empire?

0

Not really. The fire occurred in the reign of Emperor Nero in 64 AD. IN the 2nd century AD therer were several strong emperors, e.g. Trajan who enlarged the empire to its maximum extent, Hadrian, Mark Aurel, and others. When Constantine moved the capital from Rome to Constantinople about 330 AD, the empire was still strong. THe decline of the empire began to be notable in the 5th century, and the year 476 is often mentioned as the end of the Roman empire.
