Was the German commander Erwin Rommel ever accused of war crimes ?
Odds are that they would not have put Rommel on trial for war crimes. He was not one of the SS and did not really run things like concentration camps. He was a field commander all the way and was no different than Patton, MacArthur, and dozens of other Allied generals. He was just a soldier doing his job. Also, to Slim. It was never proven that Rommel had anything to do with the plot to kill Hitler and in fact, most evidence suggests that he never knew anything about it. It was simply Hitler’s paranoia that led him to force Rommel to kill himself.
