Was the former captain of the Springbok team acquitted of murder?”
Former Springbok women’s rugby captain Nomsebenzi Tsotsobe has been acquitted of culpable homicide when she appeared in the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court, says a report in The Herald. In October 2005, Luyanda Mtsele (21) was hit by a car driven by Tsotsobe, who left the scene to report the accident at the New Brighton Police Station. The report says the state failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and the court found that Mtsele and a friend had been under the influence of alcohol and should not have been walking in the middle of the road.
